AI Future Community

Zhangjiang Science City in Shanghai is the most influential Tec-industry aggregation place in the world, and the Shanghai government is planning to create the science-technology center in Zhangjiang. However, along with the development of many years up to now, this center where our project set in has become a continuously replicated and isolated reinforced concrete forest due to its high density, high aggregation, low greening and low interaction. With these features showed in the south of our construction land, the only beautiful landscape river in Zhangjiang stand at north. For addressing this problem, we designed the AI Future Community according to the spotty pattern in urban space layout, separating total construction amount into 17 independent and lower density blocks, feature is scattered, loose and orderly, in order to bring in the landscape resource of river and filter it into this land, which also greatly guarantees to share this resource in terms of vision, space and pedestrian system with the high-density buildings community in the south of construction site. The aim of the project is to bring the experimental exploration of commercial space come to life. Meanwhile, we introduced the concept of “bringing courtyard along streets”, hoping to use the Chinese traditional landscape pattern into the horizontal space between all of the blocks and the vertical space individual blocks. A huge sunken square in the largest outdoor courtyard provides roadshow space for the cultural and creative activities, while a private courtyard was set in the entrance space of every building. Beside the riverway, a whole open roof terrace system has been formed by gradually surrounding and retreating from the adjacent riverway, so that every block in AI Future Community can fully enjoy the scenery of the river.
