AKASHA – Office Project Start design : 2022 Location : Indonesia – Jakarta Akasha Office is a project born from the grand vision of a leader in the manufacturing industry. Its primary aim is to create a workplace that consolidates all key functions in one location, facilitating faster and bolder innovation, ultimately accelerating business growth. The project serves as a hub where all essential functions converge to foster swift and collaborative innovation, expected to propel the company's business growth, with an estimated expansion of 2-3 times within the next three years. Moreover, Akasha Office aims to establish a dynamic and progressive work environment where work habits are not constrained by rigid hierarchical structures. Flexibility in day-to-day operations is the primary focus, as the ongoing changes and developments in the market demand swift and adaptive responses. This is also expected to have a positive impact on enhancing the productivity of those working within it. The main challenge faced by this project is the arid and barren environmental context in the Pulo Gadung Industrial Area. However, this also presents an opportunity to create architecture that not only positively impacts its surrounding environment but also its occupants. With a land area of 1.4 hectares and two existing large warehouses, the project proposes an idea of a "central garden as a bridge" (a.k.a Main Plaza) connecting the two building masses. One warehouse will retain its function and form, while the other will be renovated into a new office building. The bridge connecting the two buildings serves not only as an architectural element but also as a significant symbol of the importance of human connection with nature amidst the complex spatial needs of a workplace. Furthermore, flexibility is key in the design of Akasha Office. Spaces must be able to adapt to the evolving needs of the company over time. A grid and module approach provide a practical solution to address this challenge. Spaces are no longer rigidly dedicated to specific functions but can dynamically adjust to users' needs. With this approach, each space is given a name according to its potential function, with an awareness that space definitions may change with organizational changes and system developments within the company. Lastly, Akasha Office is not just an office but also embodies the vision and values that the company strives for. Focus on integration with the environment, space flexibility, and adaptation to company developments are the core values to be realized. With the hope that this design not only creates a productive and inspiring work environment but also makes a positive contribution to the future growth and success of the company.
