Ayla

Ayla is a beachfront residential development, at the northern coast of Egypt. The development is designed to target the niche sector and deliver sophisticated simplicity through its Boho-Mediterranean style. Ayla is intended to echo the simple, laid back life at the beach without sacrificing extravagance. The layout is composed of intertwined residential buildings and artificial lagoons that produce an unconfined and dynamic urban design. The vision of this project is to blend the lagoon’s shoreline into the cozy spaces of each unit and provide a biophilic atmosphere that enhances the connectivity of the residents with the natural surroundings. The buildings are placed in a way to be in close connection to the natural landscape bringing the surroundings in dialogue with the architectural forms. The architectural style is a themed Boho-Mediterranean style driven by earthy tones and textured materials to creates an escape of Mediterranean serenity. The design language of the development is unique but consistent throughout the different prototypes, which gives it a distinct personality and makes it a perfect place to escape and recharge. The combination of concrete, wood and glass adds airiness and comfort to the design and allows a seamless inside/outside transition. The interior design of the prototypes feels earthy and private. Each unit features its own private terrace overlooking the magnificent views of Ayla. The interior aims to follow the architectural line ‘blending into the surroundings’ incorporating elements of nature into the design and imitating the rawness of nature to create effortlessly serene spaces that express the laid-back environment of the northern coast. The soothing blend of beige tones, the raw surfaces and the irregular furniture deliver a tranquil and peaceful resort vibe. The layering of textures and elements attain a sense of timelessness, simplicity and uniqueness. All in all, Ayla is designed to be an architectural delight with a laid back attitude to deliver a meaningful and memorable escape.
