Boyalık Residences

BOYALIK RESIDENCES Boyalık Residences is a development that comprises 67 residential units and communal facilities including a café, a gym, a spa, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and large green spaces. It is situated on the Çeşme peninsula, which is renowned for its thermal springs, sea, and pleasant climate. The design of the project is primarily driven by its geographical location and context. Even though the rectangular site is located close to the sea, it does not have direct views of it. Therefore, it is designed facing inward forming both private terraces and communal open spaces. A sense of community is created by the inner garden and the swimming pool in the centre while offering privacy through the articulation of the massing. Natural materials are used on the facades such as as stone and wood, as well as metal and glass. The predominant typology in the area is hotels and private villas, mainly occupied seasonally in summer. The project consists of residential units that come together in six different blocks. In reference to its context, both the type and positioning of the units in each block are designed to be different from each other, creating unique views and obtaining a detached-house-like feel similar to the neighbouring private villas. The negative and positive spaces created within the building blocks break the project into smaller individual masses with unique terraces on each level. This approach allows the project to be seamlessly integrated within its context even though it is higher and denser compared to its surroundings.
