CBA Axle at South Eveleigh

CBA Axle directly responds to the Commonwealth Bank of Australia’s vision for a world-class environment that supports creative, rather than process-driven, thinking and working. The project is a true stand out due to its clear reflection of CBA’s continued commitment to innovation, learning, and the wellbeing of their people – supporting the company’s workplace strategy and identity shifting from a ‘bank’ to that akin to a tech company or start up. Accommodating 4,000 people, spaces are highly diverse and very porous. There are workspaces, cafes and smart-office apps for everything: access to the building, booking a space, finding a colleague, reporting a fault, activating a locker, and ordering from bountiful catering options. Occupants have the freedom to work anywhere and are free to find their ideal space at any time of day – a key benefit to a building that is activated 18 hours a day, 7 days a week. Design features such as the building’s atrium edge demonstrate the project’s commitment to collaboration. Activated with open collaborative spaces, recessed meeting rooms, and expressed timber room pods, the dynamic and totally flexible space offers opportunities for intellectual exchange and impromptu conversation. Connected to the community, authentic and tactile in its finish, the atrium serves as a “window to innovation” by putting learning on display.
