El Nido

Santa Ana

The project QBO was a project composed of architectural design, construction and interior design. The project involves cube-like structures that can adapt to any type of terrain no matter how rigid or steep it is. Each cube is mostly made up of sustainable wood, which proposes a rapid and efficient assembly for each structure. Each cube can propose different applications ranging from bedrooms and social areas to offices and kitchens. Our utmost inspiration was the site in which the overall project took place; it was composed of a beautiful incredible cliff-like structure that drops into a mesmerizing lake. The site consists of steep terrain; however, it is the flora of the area which gives it its natural life. A two-hundred-year-old tree rests above the built structures which adds to the tranquil ambiance of the site. Our vision was to implement a design that resembled beauty and contributed to the site's natural characteristics. However, we desired to develop the project by keeping disturbances to nature to an absolute minimum. This means conserving trees, rock formations, and the starting features of the natural terrain. The main goal of this project was to implement our client’s needs into a design that, not only enriched the nature of the site but also respected it. Therefore, there was a minimal amount of required terracing on the site, we worked with the existing characteristics of the land. In addition, we aimed to preserve and contribute to ecological change, so we left space to integrate solar panels into the design in the near future. We also left space on the terrain for vegetation to grow and for the rain to flow freely under each structure. Our client requested a project in which we could harbor two existing families in different sections of the site. This would indefinitely allow the clients to socialize and interact with no issues, but also obtain the privacy that they desire. As to the execution of the project, we were able to pour our company’s values into the heart of the project, architecture, construction, and interior designing. The values of our company were highly strengthened and enriched by the development process of this project.
