Background: Addressing the aging population grows more important for China as the number of elderly people in the country exceeded 260 million in 2021. To deal with the problem, the government, the society, the healthcare industry, the science community, and the finance industry need to consolidate resources and cooperate. Against the backdrop, a new building for the healthcare forum and the nursing training center for elderly people is built. Inspiration: Mount Emei in Sichuan is one of China's Four Sacred Mountains of Buddhism. On its top, or Golden Summit, there is a holy view known as "Cloud Sea and Buddha Light". Before the sun comes out, the Cloud Sea looks like a snow-white fluffy blanket. Boundless on either side, it moves here and there with the wind. Looking from afar, those rolling peaks are like islands scattering in a sea. When the sun comes out, myriad rays of golden light penetrate the sea of clouds all the way to the earth, bathing visitors in golden light and leaving a rainbow behind them. It is believed that the golden light can purify and heal the hearts and help people get rid of worries. Every year, a large number of visitors are attracted here to get an eyeful of the well-known "Cloud Sea and Buddha Light". Architectural design: It is a two-floor rectangular building with an area of 8,000 square meters. The first floor is for the nursing training center and the second floor is for the that can accommodate 500 people. To reproduce the beauty of the rolling "Cloud Sea", the pitched roof features prominently in the rooftop design. Looking from a distance, a roof stretches downwards elegantly and gently with the eaves in the west angling upwards towards the Golden Summit. Below the eaves of the Cloud-Sea-inspired pitched roof in the middle of the building lies an outdoor stairway like a passage connecting heaven and earth. When ascending the steps, one would feel like climbing a mountain. The moment the lights turn on, beautiful light floods down one step after another. Seeing it, one just cannot help thinking of "Buddha's Light" shining from the past to the present. Bathed in a holy atmosphere, the stairway leads people upstairs to the space for the healthcare forum. Moreover, the rooftop is covered by traditional western Sichuan-style black clay tiles to hide from the wind and gather the Qi according to Chinese Feng Shui theory. Inside the building supported by an ancient architectural framework, there are creative and open multipurpose spaces. In addition to academic forums and training sessions for professionals, a variety of activities such as industry expositions for the aging population and health-specific experiences, classrooms, and gratuitous treatment services for the elderly people can also be held.
