The semi mountainous site is located within the operating radius of planes of a new airport and also adjacent to base commercial agricultural enterprises , these sites allow for for rice farming production and forestry with the historic creation of winding terraces sweeping through the hilly landscapes, The project maintains those relationships of terrace to existing landscape whilst harnessing the potential of site landscape fed ;pools and. energy storage within the theme of cascading leisure pools through the site . The proposal allows for alternative year round employment through exploration ,hiking and outdoor pursuit tourism providing a range of specialist local employment opportunities a major boost through alternative economical proposition to the pre existing landowners who now become partners in the development . The new apartment and terrace house development are inspired by the traditional wooden homes in then area , they are narrower than existing prototypes but benefit from taller internal floor to celings making use of timber frame wall pre engineered flat pack shuttering and rammed earth construction, the materials being site sourced as apart of a zero carbon proposition The hinged and framed timber elements provide caissons for the rammed earth infill they also have vertical pins which interlock to provide stability. Each residence is adaptable to single or multiple self contained occupancy with terraces and a wind /suncatcher/shade . the residential water condensers work with the surface water reclamation systems to provide on site renewable resources to include pumped -storage hydro electricity along with wind power for electricity provision. The communal activity and entertainment spaces, bars , restaurant, shops are housed within the traditionally inspired high pitched roofs on a series of mezzanine areas. incorporate active kinetic frionds which generate local power , reserves act as solar chimneys alternating between glass and recycled plastic actuators as a surface covering material.
