Nestled on the north shore of Issyk-Kul Lake in Kyrgyzstan, the new Golf Club takes its character from the breathtaking mountain landscape surrounding it. The Big Picture team has designed the facility that seamlessly blend with its exceptional natural environment. Situated at over 1600 meters above sea level, the club rests between the Küngöy Ala-Too (sunny) and Terskey Ala-Too (shady) ranges of the North Tian Shan range. The name “Issyk-Kul” translates to “hot lake” in Kyrgyz, referring to its deep, saline waters that never freeze. Spanning 182 kilometers east to west, the lake's vast expanse resembles a sea. Issyk Kul Golf Club occupies a central position of carefully and precisely formed golf course with its gently wavy terrain and the spectacular natural panorama of the lake and mountains. Softly curved roof continues flowing lines of the landscape, reflecting majestic nature’s own creations. While golf is often described as a solitary sport, it fosters vibrant communities, and this facility serves as a meeting place for enthusiasts. Kyrgyzstan’s first full, 18-hole golf course, became inspiration for the entire project. Adjacent to the clubhouse, a hotel and residential resort will accommodate players. The main building will accommodate beautiful open, double height entrance hall, locker rooms, a pro-shop, meeting room, fine dining restaurant and a private, members only club zone on the upper floor – with culminating view of the last - 18th hole. When designing the facilities of the Golf Club and the hotel, three main principles were followed: Entrance experience – a method of designing and locating facilities to ensure the best experience for those arriving according to the function and rank of the building. Escapism – the idea of separating public and private areas in order to ensure the comfort of players, club members and visiting guests. Vistas – is a deliberate selection and framing of the best and characteristic views of the environment. Almost from every point of the Club house its possible to enjoy sweeping vistas. Building provides marvelous views for golf course, hotel, surrounding mountains, but the star role is given to shining and endless Issyk-Kul Lake. When visitors step inside, their connection with nature and landscape remains unbroken thanks to panoramic views as well as the use of natural materials and a spiral staircase – entrance hall interior’s sculptural centerpiece. Golf Club ground floor houses a Golf Pro-shop and separate changing facilities, each equipped with saunas where one can unwind after a round. In the second part a scenic restaurant was located - overlooking the lake and 18th hole, while the exclusive Private Lounge with restricted access is located on the first floor. Terraces are an essential feature of the complex, with restaurant terraces positioned on the southern, sun-drenched side, offering spectacular panoramas of both the course and the lake. Located on upper floor members only lounge area offers views also for the Golf Academy pavilion with its bending canopy green roof where golfers warm up and train.
