Nestled within a cluster of furniture hub, the flagship store breathes new life into an old warehouse, transformed the space into a haven of designer furniture and captivating aesthetics. When taken into hand by the client, the warehouse was nothing more than a bare shell dump yard of garbage and rubbish debris from the constructions around in the vicinity. Being a leased out property challenge was to repairing the structure and making it rehabilitated within a stipulated time frame. Keeping aside the constraints the brief given by the client was to create an engaging and efficient space for a flagship store of a furniture brand. Thus, while planning the layout both functionality and aesthetics are considered to create an engaging and efficient space. Step inside and be transported into a world where minimalism meets contemporary elegance, where industrial element meets seamlessly with sleek modernity. The striking feature is the use of monolithic colour tone in the materials used on the floor, walls and use of wood as a striking contrast. Upon entering the store one is enveloped into an atmosphere that puts one a pause and creates inquisitiveness and a surreal ambience. Enclosed into a circular space with a circular column at the centre as if holding the universe, graphical display of story line and a strikingly bold coloured mass of the reception creates a memorable first impression at the entrance. As you explore the inside of the store, you encounter an exquisitely designed central area as a pavilion that determines a space within a space embracing the raw beauty of the warehouse character. Meticulously planned layout to segregate various spaces of different functions, creating zones of different furniture categories; living, dining and outdoor. On arranging furniture in visually appealing vignettes, showcasing complimentary pieces and room setups as a mock up to inspire customers and demonstrate various design possibilities. Use of captivating graphical backgrounds in each mock up creates a memorable visual impact on the customers and also supports to visualise how the furniture might look in their own homes. Versatile display features like movable partitions are introduced to allow flexible configuration of space in the future if any. The volumetric experience from the outside to inside, disciplined flow of movement by raising the display platforms of the furniture on the either side evokes a sense of timeless design and also highlights the store’s uniqueness. As one moves further deep into the store through the defined aisle, the steel and wood framed pavilion in the centre adds to the visual interest and also creates dramatic play of light and shadow and also showcases the unique products as displayed within. The softness and depth is further added as the existing columns are cladded with mirror to merge the spaces within spaces and weave the flow of eye movement throughout the showroom. Reflecting the brand identity, the story line, logos are uniquely and thoughtfully placed to create its importance and engage customers to emotional levels.
