E presented facility - which, according to the approved design, has been given the full name as: Bus station building with pocket platforms together with the necessary infrastructure - Task 4 as part of the Integrated Transport Centre for the Lublin Functional Area investment - can only seemingly not be associated with ecological construction. This investment, and above all its significant dominant - the bus station building - provides examples of activities and solutions that directly and indirectly improve environmental protection and quality, summarised below. Full regeneration of the site in the urban fabric: stopping the building, road and environmental degradation of the post-industrial area (demolition with segregation and disposal of materials, local remediation of contaminated land, including after the former gasworks, regulation of soil and water management in the site of the earthworks, comprehensive arrangement of tall greenery to be preserved. New quality of the urban fabric: common interchange reducing downtown transit, attractive station building with green roof and façade greenery and openwork bus shelters, bus depot building with façade greenery, reconstructed road system, underground individual parking, squares and pedestrian routes, cycle paths, high road greenery and varied low greenery and functional connection to the nearby People's Park, friendly lighting on a human scale. Simplicity of form and technology: a building composed of two cuboidal volumes, with rectangular wall divisions as solid, glazed and solid with a green wall. The envelope is an extensive, perimeter-supported roof with a communal green roof, creating a favourable microclimate below. Green light' for the façade: in addition to new and adapted trees along the road system, greenery in the pedestrian area and planting in the opening of the underground car park, the large proportion of greenery on the building façade draws attention: a green wall (modular vertical garden) individually adapted to the shading and partly northern exposure, an extensive green roof with additional trees and climbers publicly accessible for recreation and relaxation, and a green curtain of climbers on ropes on the façade of the bus depot building. The bus station with accompanying platforms is the heart of the ZCK's multi-purpose development in Lublin in a suburban post-industrial area - bringing together unique visual features (glazed 'form-in-form' with an accessible green utility roof on free-standing openwork columns, invisible underground parking, a wall-mounted vertical garden; with a lace-like structure of shelters, concrete reliefs, urban furniture and a predominantly white dominant square) and numerous attributes of sustainable architecture (low-emission building materials, rainwater retention, heat pumps, photo-voltaic glass roofs, ventilation heat recovery, energy-efficient lighting and characteristic illumination, controls) and diverse greenery in its public space. Despite the concentration of transport services here, close to the Lublin Główny railway station (long-distance and local bus traffic, public transport, taxi, own car access, bicycle and pedestrian traffic), it stands out perfectly in its surroundings.
