Wroclaw

The identity of a place is one of the main indicators of the value of a given space. Therefore, our main goal was to create a project that emphasizes the merits of the place and refers to its history - something that wouldn't make sense anywhere else but is the perfect answer and a true complement to one of the most prominent buildings in Wrocław. Pedet, as a modern culinary concept, was born in the historic space of the former Wertheim department store in Wrocław. One of its components is the Pedet gastronomic space, named during the post-war period when the building was functioning as the Universal Department Store. Renoma is one of the most recognizable buildings in Wrocław and at the same time an icon of modernist architecture. It was opened in 1930 under the original name of the Wertheim Department Store, designed by the Berlin architect Hermann Dernburg. The facades of the building were adorned with sculptures of human heads from various parts of the world, symbolizing not only the international origin of the goods offered but above all cultural diversity and openness to others. The character of Pedet fully reflects its name - it's a unique gastronomic concept, deeply rooted in local realities and the history of the place. The menu features culinary concepts mainly curated by well-known local restaurateurs. The unique style is also reflected in the interior design and characteristic architectural details. Ultimately, the place will host seven original gastronomic initiatives, encouraging people to discover new flavors and celebrate meals. Pedet Renoma provides valuable entertainment and integrates the local community. Great emphasis has been placed on the visual effect of the prepared space, carefully selected music, and interaction with art. Pedet is located in the Renoma building, facing Czysty Square. Spanning 700 square meters, the area is home to restaurants operated by top chefs, offering dishes reflecting modern street food trends. This unique space where gastronomy, the history of the place, and culture intertwine. In the common area, there are many long tables, ideal for group dining or meeting new people. Customers have the option to order meals from different places without having to separate. The chosen color scheme and materials harmonize seamlessly with the building's overall design. These include stone patterns, bronze, beige, brass, and terracotta colors found both inside and outside Renoma. In our food hall project, we utilize these elements in a more casual, less formal manner. An important feature is the stage, situated at the focal point of the common area. It is a multifunctional element used as a concert stage in the evening and as a café area or exhibition space during the day. To maintain coherence in the space, all restaurant counters are finished with the same material. In addition, the tenants are connected by a common structure under neon lights with the names of the restaurants and the lighting above the counters.
