RitaVõ is a leading distributor of furniture and fashion in Vietnam, holding exclusive partnerships with many prestigious world-class brands. High-end labels in its stable include Tombolini, La Perla and Gaudì. Their presence has made the Vietnamese fashion market more exciting, and attracted tourists to Vietnam for their retail fix. With 7 international brands across 7 floors, Fashion Store is designed so that the first 4 floors showcase the trendy styles of each brand, while floors 4, 5 and 6 are for VIP customers who desire a more personalised experience. The terrace is a venue for luxurious events. All these functions harmonise with the overall architecture. The challenge for the interior design team was in researching the garment technology behind each brand, identifying the varieties of signature fabrics for each label and then using these soft materials as inspirations for the interior architecture. The project thus explores the relationship between fashion and architectural design. Both fashion and architecture reflect society. In terms of design, they have undergone a transition from complexity to modernity and simplicity. They share many similarities in how materials are selected and applied, although at vastly different scales. The store's interior architecture creates a sensorial connection between space and society. In summary, fashion and furnishings are part of a whole, and complement each other like skin and bones.
