Singapore Airlines Incheon SilverKris Lounge

In conceptualising the SilverKris Lounge in Seoul, the DP Design team re-examined the definition of home and presented a design scheme that truly elevated the ‘home away from home’ hospitality concept. Catering to travellers with shorter transit times, the design introduces a new space – a luxurious fit-out of the traditional South East Asian café serving coffee and local delights. The hand-printed tiles are immediately identifiable with Singapore, nurturing the familiar, warm ambiance of home. This Food & Beverage concept is particularly prevalent in and is often associated with Singapore. By incorporating this pioneering addition to SilverKris lounges, the design anchors its international lounges with its home-grown identity and offers end-users a nostalgic imagery of home. Whilst maintaining the signature feel of SilverKris lounges, existing items were re-interpreted with a contemporary twist; motifs were elegantly incorporated into the lighting design and complemented by a cooler colour palette than the traditional template. Recognising human connection and people-watching as an integral part of the travelling experience, the centrepiece is the heart of social space. This feature service bar was introduced between the ‘dining’ and ‘living’ area for a stronger definition of different spaces. Without deviating from the client’s distinctive hospitality concept, the entire spatial experience was thoughtfully tailored to meet the present needs of travellers while delivering an authentic experience of Singapore. The result is an enhanced scheme that delivers both aesthetic and commercial value; is time sensitive and relates to the local context and global expectations of business class travel; and exudes the quality and service that speaks of Singapore Airlines.
