Solar Ark 3.0

Solar Ark 3.0 is a prefabricated UHPC (Ultra High Performance Concrete) double-curved shell structure with 256 m² of structural coverage, built in 20 days and operational for 9 months as of May 2023. The stunning and distinctive straight, hyperbolic shell structure of Solar Ark 3.0 combined with its permeable membrane results in a continuous construction that is fluid, similar to nature, and replicable both inside and outside. The interior area is split by a combination of low-carbon and energy-efficient bamboo and wood furnishings, allowing the space to be used for daily life as well as flexibly swapped between entrepreneurial, retirement, artist professional, and energy sharing. Additionally, SolarArk 3.0 is a "multi-energy" building product with artistic aesthetics, green ecology, safety and health, and digital intelligence that can be replicated in a standardised hyperbolic shell structure to create residential clusters. The team used BIM-based prefabricated building design and construction technology, engineering organization and management technology, supplemented by parametric design and performance optimisation tools, combined with an effective and sophisticated energy management system, a healthy and safe smart home system, and a green and environmentally friendly building technique in order to design and build a multi-functional large space house with excellent mechanical properties and perfect spatial continuity. The main structure is independently separated from the solar system for safe and efficient construction, and the 80 east-west arranged 44kW photovoltaic panel systems with 5kW wind turbines achieve complementary wind and landscape capacity while also emphasizing the organic and aesthetic overall effect of the build. The standardized UHPC hyperbolic shell components are prefabricated using only one set of formwork, and the shell structure is assembled and built in five days. SolarArk 3.0 is equipped with a biological and ecological combination treatment system for the separation of grey and black domestic sewage, realizing the recycling of building water resources, and reducing environmental harm. Energy resilience with resource utilisation will achieve double the efficiency of low carbon energy savings and green ecological benefits. With its stunning curving curves, exceptional structural performance, free spatial forms, and flexible functional modes, Solar Ark 3.0 is a housing product that seamlessly blends architecture and nature. Utilizing cutting-edge technologies and high-performance materials, the structure is created to adhere to the sustainability development standards for low-carbon, energy-saving, and emission-reducing buildings, assisting people in leading more environmentally and healthily-conscious lives.
