St George’s Residence was designed to meet the needs of the clients as well as the site’s natural landscape, the built environment and the local community. We appreciated both the constraints and opportunities of the site, and we welcomed the views of neighbours and the expertise of leading consultants – all to achieve the best possible outcome. From this healthy debate, ultimately, the community trusted our considered approach and our process to deliver a world-class design that connects with nature and rests within the landscape. The design was enthusiastically approved with unanimous support by councillors who noted it “fits with the environment”, “ticks all the right boxes “, and is “beautifully designed”. Defined by intelligent architecture, healthy design, considered craftsmanship and a deep connection with nature, St George’s Residence is a place to live well today and for years to follow. The architecture may exude a sculptural quality, but its purpose is elemental with light, air and space harnessed to create a healthy design. A thoughtful floor plan and a considered layout deliver acoustic, thermal, solar, and sustainable qualities at the core.
