Student Dormitories - The Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment of Rehovot The Hebrew University of Jerusalem

Y.Y. Granot Architects was announced as the winners of the competition for the realization of 2 new dormitory buildings, located at the faculty of agriculture, a branch of the Hebrew university of Jerusalem, located in Rehovot. the project design is composed of 2 separate buildings, 5 and 6 floors above ground level which are connected on 2 the upper levels. the project includes 302 beds ,in which We positioned public functions on the ground floor and the underground floor (-1) in order to avoid from raising the buildings, and we concentrated the main joint activities with direct connection to the land. The dormitory buildings are intertwined with one other and with the environment in a network of communication systems and horizontal and vertical movements between the public spaces of the students on the 1st floor, the land, the commercial, the residential, and even the upper garden on the roof of the western building and the existing traffic system of the campus. the project is future to double the number of student beds in the campus and foresees the future growth of the academy in Israel.
