The Academy of the Hebrew Language

The academy of the Hebrew language is the supreme institute of the Hebrew language. it situated near to the Israeli museum and the national hill of government in Jerusalem. its main roles are, the research and guidance of the Hebrew language, to deal with the development of the historical dictionary, to gather and explore the treasure of Hebrew language for all periods and present it to the general public. The new building aims to contain the academy's work, to display its treasures and to present the miraculous story of the development and evolution of the Hebrew language over 3,000 years of history and its resurrection through the recent generations. The proposed building mass is shaped according to the site boundaries and creates a "canopy structure" that relates to its environment, to the program. it was planned according to the principles of the environment and energy saving. The structure refers its design to the existing garden and paths, is influenced by them and produces an organic and natural urban environment of culture and leisure activity. The building directs and leads the pedestrian in a unique ceremony "under the shelter of his roof", into the world of Hebrew language, an ‘open invitation’. This idea also affects the interior design on all its levels, including the roof. the ‘lanterna’ is a vertical sequence of Round spaces, starts with the plenum hall, origins museum that observes the hall, the library and the roof garden of activity with the interactive amphitheater in its center, an object seen from all around.
