The Deformable modularized COVID-19 Epidemic Prevention Hospital in Shanghai

In order to deal with SARS, COVID-19 and other suddenly, large-scale and highly infectious diseases, we have accepted the commission of Wuxi Environmental Sanitation Services Co., Ltd. to design a flexible epidemic prevention hospital could be installed fast for Yangtze River Delta, especially Shanghai. For solving the problems and the shortcomings of the existing temporary epidemic prevention buildings, facing the specific needs of this type of architecture, the relevant theories of "mobile building" and "modular building" had been used to put forward a new architectural design scheme of fast installation modular hospital which can support the prevention of COVID -19. This scheme takes "Ward" as the core module, and "treatment", "office", "cleaning" rooms as auxiliary modules. Based on the research of "universality" of modules, the epidemic prevention and rescue hospitals of different sizes can be built through the rapid combination of modules. The deformable modular isolation ward is the most complex core module in this architectural design scheme. The deformable modular isolation ward is stored in a 6-foot international standard container size, fit in well with storage and transportation, it can be expanded into an 81 square meter isolation ward with 4 beds. 2 workers can build or dismantle one of deformable modular isolation ward in 3 hours. The hospital meets the requirements such as double channel, isolation and negative pressure. The hospital has relatively complete supporting function systems--- electric power, water supply, ventilation, sewage. Compared with the currently used temporary medical buildings, this architectural design scheme has the advantages such as better epidemic prevention and treatment function, faster installation speed, reusable, convenient storage, multi site adaptability and low environmental impact.
