Nestled high in the Canadian mountains, The Lodge is a bold architectural statement that dissolves into its dramatic alpine surroundings. Located on a steep, pine-covered slope with a panoramic view of Lake Revelstoke and the majestic Mount Begbie, the residence was oriented to frame the view that mattered most to the clients — the untouched beauty of nature, in complete privacy. The 911-square-meter structure is integrated into the rugged topography, with the architecture responding to the site’s complexities: a gondola line on one side and neighboring properties on the other. Careful siting ensures that the primary living spaces open toward unobstructed mountain vistas, while being visually shielded from both the cable car and adjacent lots. The residence unfolds over three levels. The main level hosts an open-plan living room, kitchen, and bedrooms — all positioned to absorb the landscape. Below, a dedicated entertainment and wellness floor includes a spa and a cantilevered outdoor pool that emerges from the rocky slope and floats above the forested void. The top floor is reserved exclusively for the master suite — a private retreat with the most breathtaking views on the property. Designed for year-round alpine living, The Lodge features a standalone garage with direct access from the slope, optimized for high-adrenaline mountain activities. Snowmobiles, skis, and motorcycles are stored and maintained here, with automatic doors that open as the homeowner descends from the mountain — a seamless transition from adventure to comfort. Informed by the raw beauty of its setting, the material palette embraces the landscape: weathered corten steel, board-formed concrete, and charred black timber blend into the terrain, allowing the home to appear as though it was carved from the mountainside itself. Every element, from the sculptural form to the texture of materials, contributes to a profound sense of place. Environmental sensitivity guided YODEZEEN's design process. An advanced waste management system was implemented to deter local wildlife ensuring safety without compromising the experience of wilderness living. A private helipad on site further elevates the exclusivity and accessibility of this remote mountain refuge. The Lodge by the YODEZEEN team is more than a home — it is a co-authored gesture with nature, where the human footprint is both powerful and respectful.
