How I wish my friends were beside me for a moment, that they might enjoy the view that lies before me.- J.W.v.Goethe The existing Villa E is located on a gentle slope on the eastern shore of Lake Garda with a breathtaking view of the lake and the surrounding mountain landscape. In this wonderful, quiet location was the old building, which had been unused for a long time, was getting on in years and neither energetically nor hygienically up to today's standards. These old walls were to be given new life, but without changing the outer form of the building as well as the roof. The client's wish to make modern living possible should of course be taken into account. The view inspired G22 Projects to open the house to the outside. All window openings were generously extended to offer views of the lake and to make the rooms bright and flooded with light. The internal layout was revised, the room layout was completely changed and made more open. All living and sleeping areas are places to linger and relax in every aspect, and the skilful layout provides unforgettable views of the outdoors. An atmosphere of simple elegance was created through a targeted and discreet choice of materials and colours. The contrast of the dark built-in furniture, which was specially made in smoked oak, reflects the variety of colours of Lake Garda. The outdoor area was also an important aspect of the entire project, which was to be regarded as an extended living space and living room. Through the skilful use of upscale materials and simple colours, an inviting place was created. The generous pergola forms a link between the orientation of the building and the location of the infinity pool. The result is an exclusive holiday home with a tranquil atmosphere in which you immediately feel at home thanks to the straightforward style of the villa and the scent of Lake Garda.
