A future-football megastructure on paper—Foster trying to turn crowd logistics into a civic monument.

Visitor Guide
If you’re at Old Trafford, look for where the city could actually absorb 100,000 people—streets, rail, river edges. The architecture starts with evacuation math.
For now: photograph the existing Old Trafford perimeter from the Trafford Wharf side at sunset—use it as a ‘before’ frame for the proposed site.
This is a planned/proposed venue concept rather than a tourist-ready building. No public interior access because it isn’t an operating attraction.
Stadium design at this scale is basically computational crowd engineering disguised as icon-making: concourse widths, egress timing, and transport interfaces drive the form.

Design & Structure
Concept-level stadium design typically uses digital crowd simulation, parametric bowl optimization (sightlines + acoustics), and structural rationalization (repeatable truss/diagrid modules) to make a 100k seat geometry buildable.
Not finalized publicly; likely steel mega-spans and lightweight roof membranes/cladding typical of contemporary Foster stadium proposals.
The real challenge is roof span + vibration + phased construction—keeping bowl stiffness while leaving concourses porous enough to empty fast.
