Design & Structure

Branching / DendriticRecursive / Self-similarFolding
Computational Process

Replaced earlier schemes by Pelli Clarke Pelli and Rafael Viñoly. Foster's design emphasizes 90- to 100-foot lease spans and ultra-high ceilings.

Materiality

Glass curtain walls and 27 landscaped terraces. The crown is a tall extrusion of the final rectangular volume that can be illuminated.

Structural Innovation

Planned to include cellar levels for parking and direct tunnel access to 34th Street-Penn Station, bridging high-density office space with major rails.
