Design & Structure
Designed using Maya and Rhino, the process took the masterplan's straight lines and separated them as they move inward to become fluid. Five cores with complex geometry were built using custom steel and wood formwork.
The facade uses fibreC glass-fiber reinforced concrete panels from Rieder. These panels were custom-curved to meet Hadid's requirements for a slightly curved cubature.
The 16-meter cantilevered monitor houses the study areas. The building has five cores, each with a different radius and angle, requiring sophisticated load-sharing engineering.
