SEASONS HQ

On top of this office tower is a stunning lake view that showcases and transforms its natural beauty throughout the four seasons in Nanjing. This serves as an inspiration for the design of the 4-level headquarters that aims to provide creativity, variety and functionality to a very diverse business enterprise incorporated within a holistic and dynamic working environment. Anchored by a communal core, each level of the headquarter transforms in different character influenced by the language, palette and impression of the seasons – winter, spring, summer and autumn. The inspiration of the “changing of seasons” correlates to the allocation of distinct qualities for each layer of the headquarters. From straight to curvilinear lines, cool to warm tone and from simple to elaborate detail. These do not only provide interesting variation to a vast, multi-level office space but also address psychology and behavior in the working environment. Vertical access and double-volume spaces provide for design connection and transition between levels. At the main reception of the 32nd floor, the lobby showcases a double height space emphasized by an eye-catching glass and steel lighting ensemble reminiscent of a winter icicles. The sleek and vertical features at the reception lobby symbolize the “culmination of winter”. The character subtly changes on the succeeding floors ascending through the swirling stair located at the staff leisure area. This is the place where the concept strongly manifests as work stations and offices are kept more rational to achieve the functional requirements of the organization. This composition created balance and control in the design features throughout the headquarters. The 33rd floor feels more dynamic with the movement of vertical lines along the walls of the hallways and the introduction of a vibrant tone to convey the “birth of spring”. Flexible meeting and leisure spaces along sweeping corridors at the 34th floor, emanates the energy of summer. Warmer hues and interesting free-forms inspired by the "blossoms" stimulate creativity and highlight focal points along the ends and corners of the hallway. The pantry room on every floor consequently provides different impressions giving the staff diverse experiences on each levels of the headquarters. The season cycle completes at the 35th floor where the executive offices and the exclusive clubhouse are located. The unification of all the design elements throughout the office can be felt here, in line with the opulence of autumn and harvest season. This perfectly fits the amount of sophistication required on this floor level. Interplay of textures, patterns and colors celebrates the climax of the journey throughout the headquarters. The grand swirling staircase that opens up to the sky garden at the summit of the office tower represents the "end" and "beginning" of the season.
