The Osaka Station Hotel (Autograph Collection)

The first Osaka Station was established in 1874. Some 150 years later, in 2024, “THE OSAKA STATION HOTEL, Autograph Collection” was born on the site of the original station. The hotel brand concept, “THE OSAKA TIME,” incorporates the desire to weave a new story by connecting the memory of the station and railroad, the site of the first Osaka Station, and Osaka's history and culture to the present day. The interior design philosophy is “time travel,” a one-of-a-kind journey through time and space between present, past, and future, The hotel has created a worldview that embodies a consistent brand concept for the facility as a whole, with the history and culture of Osaka and the memories of trains and travel as the story’s axis. Just as a station, which is the base of a journey, creates drama, we hope that this hotel will also create many future “dramas”, shaping people's memories and becoming a place where fresh memories are spun. “A journey through time and space” invokes memories of the first Osaka Station” The public area that stretches from the 1st floor to the 29th floor introduces “a journey through time and space,” drawing particular inspiration from the memory of the red bricks used on the exterior of the original Osaka Station. At the entrance on the first floor, guests are greeted by symbolic, custom-made red brick-colored glass. The 29th floor lobby features an accumulation of bricks. The 29th floor front lobby is a modern representation of a manned ticket box reminiscent of the old railroad system’s station square, and akin to a station waiting area. The lobby lounge’s symbolic gable roof preserves the memory of the first Osaka Station. “Memory design” welcomes guests at the all-day dining room, which is reminiscent of a luxury train dining car. From the space to the artwork, we have created a unique experience that allows visitors to enjoy a trip down the memory lane of Osaka Station and its constituent rail lines. “Viewing Osaka from above the clouds & remembering the journey” The design theme of the guestrooms, which offer spectacular views of Osaka, is “guestrooms above the clouds.” The design incorporates the station, the railroad, history, and culture through the uniquely Japanese “sense of sight” of Sen no Rikyu, an Osaka-born tea master. From the EV hall inspired by the station platform to the guest rooms above the clouds, through the corridor with a series of “galloping” artworks (based famous western Japan landscapes as seen from a moving train), the spatial experience continues the story from the public areas.
