THE WAVE GT-PK2

Be inspired by the lines of red sandstone, with undulating waves formed by layers of sediment compressing over time to create breathtaking patterns and contours in the rockface. This natural place of beauty is hidden in a desolate place, nestled under waves of color that defy imagination. And yet, modern architecture is retelling the story of the Vermillion Cliffs National Monument, with twisting walls and curved lines that create stunning shapes throughout the building. The lower level resembles a layer of red sandstone with its beautiful lines, which has been warped to jut out and grasp the white-grey upper floor. The result is a structure that captures the essence of White Pocket, a natural rock formation unique to the area, with a grey-toned rock hovering above the billowing red sandstone. The two floors sit atop one another, but the planes are distorted to make them appear as if they overlap seamlessly​. The bending internal walls follow the external contours, creating a captivating open space inside, which is complimented by flowing curved lines. This unique internal design is inspired by Buckskin Gulch, a narrow canyon set amidst the beautiful waves of the Vermillion Cliffs National Monument.
