Wuxi Institute of Quantum Studies

Institute of Quantum Sensing of Wuxi is a micro-magnetic resonance laboratory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, which is under the responsibility of Academician Du Jiangfeng of the University of Science and Technology of China. It aims to build a quantum sensing research and development institution with the world's most influential and the nation's forefront, and to promote the development of the quantum technology industry. It performs as a platform for industry-university-research cooperation around the industrialization of results in industrial fields such as quantum computing, quantum measurement, and quantum sensing. It is an academician workstation mainly engaged in research development. We hope to reflect the traditional culture of Wuxi through modern architecture, such as texture and color of different materials. The design emphasizes the delicate and light building temperament of Jiangnan architecture through the folding treatment of the building skin. At the same time, the use of glass wall and folding surface highlights the quiet and unique temperament of the building.The detail design is an important part of our space design, and the high quality detail represents the high-tech beauty of this building. The main function is the display area on the first floor and the office and conference on the second and third floor. Therefore, the primary goal of the design is to solve the streamlined organization of multiple functions. The main entrance is arranged at the intersection of the front road and the commercial road, which fully demonstrates its visibility and maximizes its accessibility. On the south side of the high-speed railway, the secondary entrance is mainly arranged due to the noise impact. The south side of the building's elevation is mainly a vertical window with a solid wall surface. These measures are beneficial to isolate the high-speed rail noise from the south side. The north side ,the east and west sides are mainly made of glass curtain walls, and the external metal louvers also make the building more delicate and elegant. The building is also a Green energy-efficient building. It strives to explain the new concept of “construction of energy saving” instead of traditional “building energy saving”, and realizes the design concept of low carbon, energy saving and environmental protection. The energy-saving measures of the building itself are the insulation board and the curtain walls for the outer walls and the roof. The outer window is made of insulated metal profiles and multi-cavity sealed hollow Low-E glass windows. The fuction organization is reasonable and can be able to obtain good light,making full use of Natural ventilation,which can achieve the goal of passive energy conservation and emission reduction.
