Visitor Guide
Walk entirely around the base to see how the single concrete support column disappears into the original structure.
From the water-facing side (Zaha Hadidplein) to capture the cantilever in its full, gravity-defying glory.
Tours are available for the interior. The exterior is best seen from the public square, Zaha Hadidplein.

Design & Structure
Historic analysis of the original fire station led to the restoration of its intended (but never built) central tower, reimagined here as a glass volume.
Glazed facade of triangular and trapezoidal panels; steel supporting frame; restored 1922 brickwork.
The new volume is supported by a large central column in the courtyard and two smaller pillars towards the front.
