A building that behaves like terrain—SANAA turns a library into a continuous, drifting landscape of study.

Visitor Guide
Take off your ‘museum pace’ and adopt ‘campus pace’: wander, sit, change levels, repeat. The architecture is the loop, not a single room.
Interior: from a high point looking across multiple ‘valleys’ of the floor, late morning for even daylight. Exterior: from the campus approach showing the low, floating profile, golden hour.
Yes—open to the public daily for long hours; behaves as a library and study space with cafes/services on site.
There are no ‘normal’ floors here—what looks like a simple slab is a complex structural surface tuned to feel effortless underfoot.

Design & Structure
Designed as a continuous warped slab with courtyards: heavy 3D coordination to control slopes, accessibility, and structural thickness; engineering and architecture co-author the surface so it reads as landscape rather than structure.
Concrete structure with extensive glazing; materials are kept quiet so light, curvature, and human activity become the primary ‘finish.’
A large-span, undulating slab requires careful stiffness and deflection control; the engineering feat is making complex geometry feel casually walkable.
