A ghost of the Celtic Tiger: a Foster skyline-spear that never landed, still haunting the Docklands wind.
Proposed landmark skyscraper to be constructed in Dublin.

Visitor Guide
You’re not “missing the entrance” — it was never built. Stand at Sir John Rogerson’s Quay by the mouth of the Dodder and look for the newer Capital Dock massing to understand what replaced the ambition.
From the south side of the Samuel Beckett Bridge, facing east toward the Docklands; shoot at blue hour when the river goes graphite and the glassy replacements glow.
No interior — the project was cancelled. Treat it as an urban archaeology stop: the site area is public realm, but any adjacent private lobbies are security-controlled.
The scheme’s most “parametric” move was the twisting/tilting massing logic around a compact core to keep floor plates efficient while selling the idea of a landmark silhouette.

Design & Structure
Competition-era landmark thinking translated into a Foster-and-Arup performance pitch: a slim core, rotated/tilted envelope, and sustainability theater (wind/solar at the top) modeled for wind comfort on the quay.
Would-have-been glass and metal rainscreen with sculpted facets; the point was reflectivity and skyline legibility rather than tactile material craft.
A torsion-stiff core would have done the heavy lifting; the twist is an engineering tax you pay to buy a silhouette.
