The project is located in Shenzhen, one of the most typical immigrant cities in China. Every year, a large number of creative young people come here. The main customers of this project are these young people working in Shenzhen, surrounded by residential communities dominated by locals. , the goal of the design is to create a communication place that can be used by both communities. Originally, the community residents were more resistant to building a youth apartment here, and before we participated, the consensus reached between the owner and the residents was that a three-story loft could be built, but the 50m-long apartment interface still completely blocked the community courtyard from the street. The strategy we proposed was to stretch the narrow building volume into 4 apartment units, so that all rooms have light on both sides, and the missing floor area was added one floor above it, and the room type with terrace was added, providing the developer with a better apartment product. At the same time, the new scheme also creates a better feeling for the residents of the original community, so that they can also see the street space in the courtyard, and the new story is closed inward, so standing in the courtyard will not feel the oppression caused by the increase in the height of the building.
