Paper & Tea is a Berlin-based brand specializing in high-quality teas, fine stationery, and lifestyle accessories. Its philosophy embraces mindfulness, aesthetics, and attention to everyday rituals. The brand’s products are inspired by Japanese tradition and Asian tea culture, while also reflecting a modern, minimalist way of life. The new headquarters in Berlin was envisioned as a physical manifestation of these values. The project was carried out within AchtBerlin – a dynamic creative hub in the heart of the city, whose raw architectural character provided the perfect backdrop for a space inspired by the world of tea. The interior design draws from the Japandi philosophy – a fusion of Japanese simplicity and Nordic minimalism. The core concept is based on the ritual of tea preparation, which served as the starting point for creating a space that promotes focus, reflection, and collaboration. The office is divided into functional zones: an open co-working space, intimate rooms for individual work, relaxation areas, and a tasting zone directly related to the brand's identity. Natural materials dominate the interior: wood, fabrics with various structure, raw concrete and translucent glass. Carefully selected textures and tones reflect the essence of nature – the space is subtle, balanced, yet rich in detail. In communication areas, curved forms and soft lines symbolize the flow of people and ideas, introducing a sense of fluidity and harmony. At the heart of the office lies a freestanding wooden structure resembling a tea pavilion, which serves as a meeting room. Its form – intimate, enclosed, and quiet – echoes the architecture of a traditional Japanese teahouse, offering a space for calm, focus, and conversation in serene atmosphere. The design is further enriched with landscaped greenery, arranged in the spirit of Japanese gardens, providing moments of rest and mental clarity. The Paper & Tea office is more than just a workplace – it is a space that tells the story of the brand, celebrates values rooted in tea culture, and translates them into the language of contemporary design. The thoughtful composition of materials, spatial functions, and symbolic gestures makes this project not only aesthetically refined, but deeply meaningful – harmonious, coherent, and conducive to everyday mindfulness.
