Gehry’s Manhattan sail—glass panels caught mid-billow, as if the Hudson wind designed the façade.
Office building in Manhattan, New York City.

Visitor Guide
Don’t rely on lobby access: the best read is from outside. Walk the block to watch the glass flip from matte to mirror as you move.
West Side Highway/11th Ave sidewalk opposite the building for a full façade read; blue hour is ideal when the lobby video wall glows and the glass turns silvery.
Corporate HQ: public access can be limited and may depend on security/event use. The lobby’s famous video wall is clearly visible from outside through the glass, free, any time you can see in.
The façade looks freeform, but it’s a rationalization triumph: the ‘sail’ is built from many flat/controlled panels coordinated to read as continuous movement.

Design & Structure
Gehry-style digital geometry control and façade rationalization: sculpted massing coordinated with glazing systems so complex curvature remains buildable and repeatable.
Glass is the whole argument—its reflectivity and translucency are used as a kinetic surface that changes with your walking speed and the sky.
A conventional office structure wearing an unusually demanding envelope; the engineering sophistication is in the façade support and tolerances, not exotic spans.
