M Offices This green office building will be the home for a startup company which will define the future of hybrid work.M Offices are designed to fulfill the workspace activities for the new normal, individual focused work, planned meetings, telephone conversations, informal, un-planned meetings, collaborating on focused work, audio and video conferencing, individual routine tasks as well as relaxing, taking a break and reading; therefore the footprint is open plan , flexible and multi-functional. It is durable and strong, yet so thin and light with its glass façade that reflects the sunlight in such a way that it looks like it is floating above ground. The footprint is approximately 1000 sqm with a meeting piazza shared by the end-users on open ground floor with an inviting entrance area. The main motto was to design a building that is environment-friendly. The spatial and functional layout is modelled on a typical office; there is a core with elevators and the stairs; then the office space provides the users with a “make yourself at home “ approach: there is a kitchen where the team congregate to talk and eat together, a living room for meetings and collaborative work, various options with workstations, a focus zone for peace and tranquility. There are phone booths for private phone calls, and large “dining tables “ for communal work. Individual offices are spread around the building, leaving small semi-open areas and corners for employees to concentrate on projects or meet and talk on an informal level. The office is arranged around the central service core of the building that acts as distribution nucleus between the various departments. The strong wall design that runs a full two storeys at the entrance infuses the space with the charm and warmth of natural stone. The glass clad interior exposes its infrastructure to the core. The vision for the design was an elegant and futuristic perspective that is bold and layered at the same time. Perspectives play a big role in giving the space a futuristic feel, with any non-glass details having a metallic shine or high-gloss sheen. The idea overall is to combine the values of home and office in a work setting.
